What benefits will North Port Quay provide nearby beaches? |

The reclamation works proposed by the FPA north of Rous Head will effectively remove the "sandtracks" surf bank. The NPQ development will marginally impact on the southern end of Port Beach also. This impact will be compensated by the extension of the beach westward by creating a north facing beach by nearly a kilometre and by the creation of an artificial reef further to the west. Located on the islands and protected from the ocean will be two additional sheltered beaches.
